Thekkepuram”  - a group of people from the coastal city of Kozhikode. A venue to get together and exchange news about home town, renew friendship, get to know and help each other and have a place to come during holidays became a necessity.

 Thus was born "Bab Makkah Recreation Club" - in 1986 - the name due to the fact that the majority of them lived in the Bab Makkah area of the oldest city and gateway to Makkah, that is Jeddah. Some of the forces behind the beginning of this club continue to be active members.

 The members held competitions in Carroms and Football, which provided a lot of fun and excitement to every one. At present other sport events like Cricket, Volleyball, Athletics, etc have been included. In addition to it competitions for kids and ladies also take place in the respective wings.

Today BRC has a special place in the social service and sports arena. Also they have a team of workers willing to carry BRC to new horizons and greater achievements.
